Overview
Resistors for electric vehicles are electronic components that are designed to regulate the flow of electric current in the vehicle's electrical system. These resistors are used to control various functions such as motor speed control, battery charging, and power distribution. There are various types of hybrid vehicles. Some run on batteries, with the combustion engine only taking over when the batteries discharge. In others, battery power can be switched in for town driving, or to provide a backup for the combustion engine. The combustion engine recharges the batteries.
In Hybrid vehicles, the purpose of the Battery Management System (BMS) is to maximise the performance of the battery pack, delivering reliable and safe operation over the lifetime of the vehicle.
The BMS controls input and output voltage between the battery pack and a multitude of powered elements across the vehicle. These include motor and fan drivers, heaters and driver information systems.
